Fresh herbs all summer, preserved ones for winter, and endless possibilities for homemade tea blends, infused oils, tinctures, and syrups. Growing and creating with herbs is rewarding, season after season.
But getting started in the garden? It’s tricky — maybe you’re feeling a bit unsure or had a few gardening attempts that didn’t go as planned.
There’s a lot to think about: soil, water, sunlight, where to plant, existing trees or gardens, kids, pets... Every yard has its quirks!
Where do you even start? What’s best to grow for your specific spot, and when should you be picking your herbs?
Now imagine...
Being guided by a farmer, herbalist, and landscape architect, walking you through the whole process, step-by-step.

We’ll start by clarifying your gardening goals, helping you select plants that best suit your unique lifestyle. Then, we’ll guide you through preparing a site plan and beginning your master plant list.
Module 2: Site Analysis & Planting Design
Soil, sun, wind, water—these are key elements to consider in your site plan. We’ll teach you how to analyze your space and incorporate these factors. Then it’s on to the fun of designing your planting plan! Explore the pros and cons of different garden bed styles to find what’s best for your site. We’ll finish up by creating your planting schedule and walking you through seed sourcing and starting.
Module 3: Garden Bed Construction, Soil & Planting
Get hands-on guidance for building your garden beds and enriching your soil for robust, healthy plants. We’ll cover planting and watering techniques to help your seeds and seedlings thrive.
